Can you detail the game story?

In search of a new home humanity reached a far away planet, near a star named Antares. After sometime, humans learned to live peacefully with the native creatures on this new world. But then, a disaster fell from the stars...

A metal beast in form of a meteorite arrived. Bringing chaos and destruction with it. Every town, every city, every person in its path meet their end. Even entire armies were completely eradicated trying to defend their countries. For a thousand years, the overwhelming power of the scorpion-like beast made it unstoppable. It became a new force of nature.

Until one day. A human champion appeared. A master of arms, with unparalleled skills and a burning will within him. He challenged the beast and he was the first to harm it. After this historical success in battle, everyone started calling him the man-scorpion... "The Manticore".

For fifteen years, they've been battling each other, hunting each other. After a fierce fight, Manticore wounds the metal beast deeply, forcing it to flee and shelter itself in a peninsula. Needing time to recover, the beast offers its power to creatures nearby in order to gain protection and hide its presence.

Now, Manticore is looking to finish his hunting and will not stop until he takes down the Anterios.

What is the game genre?

Its a Boss Rush and an Exploration game. To progress through the game you have to hunt the area's boss to open new areas, and you can improve your gear, weapons and learn about lore in explorations. The main feature of the game is that in each area you can fight the boss immediatly OR explore instead.

Who is making the game?

At this part of the project, 2 people are working on Anterios: 

  • The creator Ricardo Saborio (owner of RSR Studios) has made every aspect of the game until last year (story, art, animations, coding, sound effects, music and more). Ricardo has knowledge in art, music composition and design, and has a bachelor's degree in systems engineering.

  • Diego Benavides, a very skilled Canadian software engineer, is co-working in different aspects of the project (focused mostly in planning and music). Plus, Diego and Ricardo started working together on side projects for future video games.
